Report on Universal Brotherhood Day Celebration

On 11th September, Universal Brotherhood Day was celebrated by VKNPV with great enthusiasm and reverence at the Multipurpose Hall of CPWD at 9:30 am. The event highlighted the timeless values of unity and brotherhood as espoused by Swami Vivekananda. The program was graced by several esteemed guests, including Dr. Jatinder Sohal, Director of Transport, and Shri Goutam Gupta, Sr. Director and State Coordinator (ICIS), who served as Guests of Honour. Shri R Ravichandran, Senior Vice Chairperson of PBMC, was the Special Guest. Additional dignitaries such as the Headmistresses of GS Dairyfarm and GSSS School Line, along with our Secretary of VKV Andamans, Susri Varsha Bujone, also graced the occasion.

The theme of the event, "Universal Brotherhood," was brought to life through various performances by the students. The program included skits, songs, dances, and the presentation of Swami Vivekananda's thoughts, all of which encapsulated the spirit of brotherhood. A highlight of the event was the presentation of Swami Vivekananda’s iconic speech at the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chicago, delivered by a student, which moved the audience.

The hall was beautifully decorated to reflect the theme of brotherhood and unity in diversity, with both students and parents involved in the preparations. The efforts made to enhance the decor underscored the importance of collective harmony and collaboration.

In recognition of students' achievements in various competitions, prizes were distributed by the distinguished guests. In return, the Vidyalaya presented mementos to the guests as a token of appreciation.

During their speeches, the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour lauded the Vidyalaya for its unwavering commitment for upholding the values propagated by Swami Vivekananda. They emphasized the importance of maintaining the spirit of brotherhood in honour of Swamiji’s teachings and encouraged everyone to continue fostering unity and harmony.

The event witnessed the participation of 150 parents, 375 students, and 29 staff members, making it a memorable and meaningful celebration of Universal Brotherhood Day.

Ganesh Chaturthi, a significant festival in the Hindu calendar, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion at our school. The festival marks the birth of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the patron of knowledge. The Celebration began with a ceremonial puja by staff, students and parents. The puja was conducted with traditional rituals, including lightning the lamp, chanting mantras, flower offerings and Aarti followed by devotional songs. After the puja, all the attendees including staff, students and parents gathered to perform the ‘Anjali’ with folded hands and heartfelt prayers. Prior to this day on 06/09/2024 various competitions were conducted like Rangoli making with flowers and leaves and Idol making of Ganesha with clay and leaves. The event was concluded with Prasad distribution among all the attendees, and the moment of devotion allowed everyone to connect with the essence of the festival.

Report on Teachers' Day Celebration – 5th September 2024

 On 5th September 2024, Teachers' Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect at our school to honor the invaluable contributions of teachers. The event began with a heartfelt tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birthday is commemorated as Teachers' Day. Both staff and students paid homage through speeches highlighting his life and contributions to education, followed by a song dedicated to him, setting the tone for the day's celebrations.

 The Headmistress felicitated all the teachers with medals and trophies to acknowledge their dedication and hard work. Awards such as "Best Teacher," "Best Class Teacher," and "Most Beautiful Classroom" were presented, recognizing their unique contributions. Along with these honors, each teacher received personalized greeting cards featuring special quotes that highlighted their qualities, making the day truly memorable for them.

The students of Class X took charge of the next part of the celebration, organizing a vibrant program that included games, songs, dances, and heartfelt compliments for all the staff members. The students shared thoughtful quotes to express their appreciation, adding a personal touch to the event.

 As a token of gratitude, the students presented mementos to all the staff, and in return, all the staff blessed them. The teachers presented a special trophy to the Headmistress, recognizing her as the "Leading Light of VKNPV."

 To conclude the joyous celebration, a delicious lunch was arranged by the students for all the staff, creating a warm and celebratory atmosphere. The day was filled with love, respect, and appreciation, making it a truly special occasion for everyone involved.
