REPORT ON JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION
The sacred festival of Janmashtami, commemorating the divine birth of Bhagwan Shri Krishna, was celebrated with great devotion, joy and enthusiasm at Vivekananda Kendra Nagar Palika Vidyalaya, Ranchi Tekri. The school premises were beautifully adorned with flowers, colourful buntings and vibrant rangoli, creating a serene and spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
To bring out the devotional and creative spirit of the festival, various competitions were organised for the students, including Flute Making, Matka Decoration, Palna Making and Radha-Krishna Bhajan. The beautifully prepared flutes, matkas and palnas were also displayed, reflecting the creativity and devotion of the children.
The programme commenced in the presence of the Principal, parents and staff members. Students presented colourful cultural performances comprising devotional bhajans and graceful dances depicting the life and divine leelas of Lord Krishna. A lively Dahi Handi event was also organised, filling the atmosphere with excitement and festive fervour.
A total of 70 students, 48 parents and 32 staff members participated in the celebration with great enthusiasm. The presence and active involvement of the parents added warmth and significance to the occasion. Everyone joined together in remembering and celebrating the divine birth of Lord Krishna.
The celebration concluded with an inspiring address by the Principal, who appreciated the sincere efforts of the students and staff. She encouraged everyone to imbibe the timeless teachings of Lord Krishna—truth, righteousness, devotion, compassion, courage and selfless action—and to practise these values in their daily lives. Sweets were distributed among all the participants, spreading happiness, love and a spirit of togetherness.
The Janmashtami celebration was a joyful and spiritually enriching occasion, fostering devotion, cultural awareness, moral values and unity among the students, parents and staff. The celebration beautifully reminded everyone that the teachings of Lord Krishna continue to guide us towards a life of dharma, devotion and selfless service.
